D-Scour - Scour Control 30g Dosing Syringe

!
Concentrated Multi-Strain probiotic with garlic extract as an aid in the treatment and control of scours in Catle, Calves, Horses, Foal/Ponies, Sheep, Lambs, Goats, Kids, Pigs and Piglets.

Has been formulated to control scours through the combined action of selected natural live micro-organisms (probiotics) complemented by a natural yet powerful antimicrobial.
The combination is synergistic for a number of reasons, including that fact that the antimicrobial portion does not affect the probiotics, yet both components attack the micro-organisms which cause scouring without effecting the beneficial bacteria within the animal’s gut. This is particularly important when treating animals with enteric disease caused by E.coli, Rotavirus or Candida spp. and microbially-mediated diseases of the urinogental tract, where for example, Candida albicans is implicated.
Garlic has been used for thousands of years for its nutritional and medicinal properties but it has only been in recent times that manufacturing processes have been developed to protect and stabilise its important antimicrobial active, alliin. Another major plus for this product is that it does not contain any chemical or antibiotic components, simply ingredients developed by Mother Nature.
In contrast, antibiotics used to treat scours act by destroying target pathogens but at the same time they also destroy beneficial digestive bacteria.

Vytrate Scour Treatment for Calves and Pigs

!
An oral, non-antibiotic supportive treatment to replace lost fluids and electrolytes in scouring or dehydrated calves, pigs or lambs.
A suitable first feed for bought-in or stressed calves and pigs.
An aid in the treatment of pregnancy toxaemia in ewes.
Available in 64g Sachets of Powder and 1 litre of liquid concentrate.

Vy’trate Concentrate is an oral non-antibiotic rehydration therapy containing a balanced mixture of glucose, glycine and electrolytes. Vy’trate Concentrate can also be given undiluted as an aid to treatment in cases of pregnancy toxaemia in ewes. Once diluted the mixture of Vy’trate is isotonic, ensuring glucose and glycine are actively absorbed by the intestinal tract, causing water and sodium to be absorbed simultaneously with these nutrients and resulting in a high degree of rehydration in scouring and dehydrated animals. Where specific disease control (I.e. antibiotic therapy) is indicated, it can be administered in conjunction with Vy’trate. Active Constituents undiluted diluted (1 part to 11.5 parts) Glucose 278.75 g/L 22.30 g/L, Glycine 38.56 g/L 3.08 g/L, Citric Acid Monohydrate 3.28 g/L 0.26 g/L, Potassium Citrate 0.75 g/L 0.06 g/L Potassium Phosphate Monobasic 25.53 g/L 2.04 g/L, Sodium chloride 53.44 g/L 4.28 g/L Indications Diarrhoea, Dehydration, Post-transport stress, Pregnancy Toxaemia in ewes
Directions for Use For oral treatment only Dilute 1 part concentrate with 11.5 parts water and give orally, following specific treatment for the condition indicated Vy’trate may also be administered orally via syringe or a drench gun.
Continue treatment for 1 to 2 days after the animal appears clinically recovered and is feeding normally. Replace with fresh solution every 24 hours.
Vy’trate Solution can be used as the sole source of fluids during treatment
The following doses of the diluted preparation are recommended:
Calves
1 L/10 kg bodyweight daily, divided into 2 or more doses 1.5 L/10 kg bodyweight daily initially if dehydration is severe, divided into 3 or more doses Scouring Calves: As soon as signs of scours are seen withdraw milk or milk replacer and feed the required dose of Vy’trate Solution for 2 days. For the next 2 days return to feeding milk at half the rate and, either separate to or mixed with, an equal amount of prepared Vy’trate Solution. Return to full milk feeding thereafter
Bought-in or Stressed Calves:
Feed 2 L of Vy’trate Solution instead of milk as the first feed on arrival.
For the next feed use 1 L milk or milk replacer mixed with or separate to 1 L Vy’trate Solution. Return to full milk feeding thereafter.
Adequate colostrum must be fed to calves within 48 hours of birth.
Pigs
A litter of 1 week old piglets will consume approximately 2-3 L per day A weaner pig will consume approximately 1-2 L per day.
Vy’trate solution should be made available for 4 days. Replace with freshly made up Vy’trate Solution every 24 hours.
If there has been some improvement after 4 days, but the scour has not cleared completely, treatment may be continued for up to 8 days in total.
Suckling Piglets:
Immediately scour symptoms show, fresh Vy’trate solution made up as directed should be made available, in a cube drinker or similar clean vessel, to the whole litter.
Weaned Pigs:
If these pigs are showing signs of scour, make fresh Vy’trate solution available in a suitable clean vessel, cube drinker, trough or drum with nipple drinker.
Periods of Stress
For the 2-3 days following any period of stress (i.e. weaning, transporting, etc.) Vy’trate Solution will help to increase fluid and electrolyte consumption and absorption, so minimising any possible setback. As diluted Vy’trate Solution is extremely palatable and excessive drinking may occur, for this indication only, diluted Vy’trate Solution at half the strength recommended in the table above may be used.
Lambs
Scouring Lambs:
Give 150–200 mL of fresh diluted Vy’trate Solution, 2–4 times daily as required. The solution should be adjusted to body heat and given via feeding bottle and teat. The lamb should also suck the ewe. Unused diluted solution may be kept in a clean container below 25°C but should be replaced with fresh solution every 24 hours.
Sheep
Pregnancy Toxaemia in Ewes:
Administer 160mL undiluted solution per ewe using suitable drenching equipment. Repeat at 4 to 6 hour intervals as necessary. Prompt treatment as soon as symptoms appear improves the likelihood of complete recovery.
