A Pregnancy kit to test 12 sheep or goats.
Do your own preg test on farm, No Vet Required!
This test offers a safe, accurate, and easy alternative for confirming pregnancy in goats.
BioPRYN measures the presence of Pregnancy-Specific Protein B (PSPB), a protein only produced by the placenta of a growing fetus, in the blood circulation of the doe.
BioPRYN is a useful technology for the reproductive management of meat and dairy goat herds. In addition to being safe, accurate and easy to use,
BioPRYN is supported by industry experts educated in integrating the test to improve reproduction programs.
How It Works
BioPRYN®
begins with the collection of a blood sample from the animal after 20 from joining.
The samples are then shipped to a laboratory where an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is performed.
Reports may be sent via mail, phone, email or fax.
Using BioPRYN assures accuracy. The accuracy is 99 percent when the test determines an animal open, giving producers confidence to administer prostaglandin and restart a synchronization program.
There is as much as a 5 percent false-pregnancy rate from the test, primarily due to early embryonic death which is a challenge regardless of which method if used for pregnancy detection.
The Benefits: Why should goat producers use BioPRYN?
• BioPRYN is convenient: o Tests conducted according to the goat producer’s schedule o An electronic report can be emailed or faxed o No on-farm handling of testing data
• Safe for developing embryos.
• Ninety-nine percent accurate at identifying open females and 95 percent accurate in identifying pregnant females.
• More cost-effective than ultrasound.
• Allows producer and veterinarian to concentrate on preventative medicine and treatment.
