Drontal is recommended for the control of all gastrointestinal worms in dogs including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm (including hydatid tapeworm).
Drontal is available in tablet form and now in a tasty liver chew which your dog will love.
Drontal is a formulation of three distinctly different proven drugs offering the broadest spectrum of activity. The synergistic febantel/pyrantel combination is active against roundworms and hookworms and is highly effective against whipworms. Praziquantel provides a superb level of efficiency against all the major tapeworms.
Drontal treats all gastrointestinal worms including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm (including hydatids).
While Drontal is effective in killing adult worms that are present in the intestine at the time of treatment, worming is not a vaccine against future attacks. That’s why regular treatment with drontal is essential. Dogs and cats can be reinfected from other pets and from the environment.
Dogs should be treated at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks of age, then monthly at 4, 5 and 6 months of age and then every 3 months. Pregnant and lactating bitches should be treated before mating, 10 days before whelping, then 2 and 4 weeks after whelping. Dogs in Hydatid Tapeworm areas need treatment with drontal every 6 weeks.
